Music Production Tutor

JC’s career as a sound engineer began in 1993 at London’s famed Matrix studios. His previous projects include production, engineering and remix work for the likes of Bjork, Portishead, The Cure, Erasure, Allister Whitehead, Galliano, Pressure Drop, Raggatwins and Renegade Soundwave. JC has produced work for numerous record labels including Chrysalis, EMI, Sony, Warner and Blue Note. His work has also appeared on TV and in film projects.

Danny Lewis

Since his debut single, the club chart number one and national top 30 hit 'Spend the Night', Danny’s tracks and remixes have been supported by the likes of Masters at Work, Gilles Peterson, David Morales, Kenny Carpenter, Todd Edwards, Todd Terry, and  Danny Rampling to name but a few. He’s recorded for  labels including Defected, Ministry Of Sound, Afroart Records, Bitasweet, Coopr8, Lovemonk, XL Recordings and many more. His expertise has forged a credible but accessible club sound that is now in great demand. Look out for his new online label project Enzyme Black.
Ian McKenzie
Music Production Tutor
Ian scored a Top 10 hit 'Freak Like Me' in 2000 with Dub Conspiracy. He has also produced numerous house & garage projects including Garage anthems 'Dinamite' and 'Mr Big'. Remix/ production credits include Pink and Shola Ama. Ian has played live and recorded for Depeche Mode, Dexy’s Midnight Runners and Edwin Starr, and is currently playing with a band called 1ibear which features members from the Brand New Heavies and Primal Scream. He is also releasing soulful house tunes with Deep Factor and Factor 60 .He plays drums, keyboards, bass & lead guitar and has just finished recording an album for Sony for one of Point Blank's youth projects
Steve Hillier
Songwriting Tutor
As a founder member of the band Dubstar, Steve wrote eight of the bands nine Top 40 singles and sold over half a million records in the process. He has subsequently contributed to songwriting projects for artists including Tom Jones, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Sugababes and Natalie Imbruglia. Steve also co-wrote and played on Mark Owen’s Top 5 single “Four Minute Warning” which stayed in the UK top 40 for 7 weeks.

John Brough

Mixing / Music Production Tutor

In a career spanning 20 years John has recorded and mixed some of the greatest artists in the world including Queen, INXS, The Rolling Stones, Faith No More and U2 - amongst others.  His exceptional skills and talent have enabled him to work with producers such as Marius de Vries, Jon Kelly, Youth, Greg Alexander & Steve Lillywhite on a regular basis and John has worked at all of the top studios in the UK & Europe, The Power Station Studio in New York and Studio 301 in Sydney. He combines the very latest technology such as Pro Tools and Logic with classic recording techniques to create state of the art productions.
