Is this Cubase course suitable for beginners?

Yes, the beginners Cubase course is entirely suitable for first-time users. The course will also be very useful for those who have some knowledge of the software, however those with substantial exprerience may wish to take the Intermediate Course.

 

What hardware do I need to take the Cubase course?

Mac Users

  • Mac OS X v10.4 or later
  • Power Mac G4 1 GHz Minimum (depending on the audio software requirements)
  • 512 MB RAM
  • Core Audio compatible soundcard is required
  • A MIDI Controller keyboard

PC Users

  • Windows Vista, XP Home or XP Professional
  • Intel / AMD / Athlon Processor 1.4 GHz minimum (depending on the audio software requirements)
  • 512 MB RAM
  • Windows MME compatible soundcard (ASIO compatible soundcard recommended)
  • A MIDI Controller keyboard

What software do I need to take the Cubase course?

  • PC web browser - Internet Explorer, Netscape or Firefox
  • Macintosh web browser - Safari or Firefox
  • Macromedia Flash Player - download here
  • Apple QuickTime - For Mac - For Windows
  • Uncompressing software for zip compressed files - i.e. WinZip for PC, StuffIt expander for Mac
  • Steinberg Cubase 4, Cubase Studio 4. Also compatible with Cubase SX, SL & SE 3 (not with Cubase LE)

Is the Cubase course approved / accredited?

Point Blank is an Official Training Centre for Steinberg. We have been teaching music courses on Cubase for over a decade. Students who complete the course will receive certification from Point Blank.
