Deep House Course - Ableton Live F.A.Q.

Is this music course suitable for beginners?

The course assumes that students already have some basic knowledge of making music with Ableton Live. You will learn how to produce a deep house track using the MIDI instruments and effects that are included with Ableton Live. No additional music software is required. If you are a complete beginner then we strongly recommend taking the Ableton Live 1: Production course first.

Software Requirements

• Web browser: We recommend using Firefox (Mac & PC) - www.mozilla.com
• Macromedia Flash Player - http://www.adobe.com
• Apple QuickTime - For Mac - For Windows
• Ableton Live 8 (highly recommended) or Live 7.

Hardware: Recommended Specifications

Mac Users

• Mac OS X v10.4.11 minimum (10.5 or later recommended)
• Power Mac G4/G5 1.8 GHz Minimum (Intel Mac recommended)
• 2GB RAM (4GB recommended)
• USB port
• A MIDI keyboard (not essential but recommended)

PC Users

• Windows XP (home or Pro), Windows Vista or Windows 7
• 2 GHz Pentium® 4 or Celeron® compatible CPU or faster (multicore CPU recommended)
• 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended on Windows Vista and Windows 7)
• USB port
• A MIDI Keyboard (not essential but recommended)
