Over the last decade or so a new phenomenon has started to occur. You are as sure to witness it as the sun setting at night. Oh yes, it is that time of year for the top DJs in the world to rev up their PR hype machines for DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll.
It is the biggest such poll around and can springboard up and coming DJs to superstardom hence the surefire bombardment of your Twitter and Facebook feeds with pleads to vote for them! With this growing tussle for attention we’ve recently found ourselves drawn to the artists who have got a little creative in their efforts such as Above and Beyond’s hilarious viral video from last year! The culmination of the poll is always celebrated with a huge Top 100 Awards party at Ministry of Sound and we are very proud to be sponsoring this years event. Last year the DJs performing included the winner Armin Van Buuren, Deadmau5, Sasha, Laidback Luke, and Afrojack amongst many others… and get this… for 2011’s party you could be joining such illustrious names on the lineup at the legendary London super-club!
… We will be taking over the Babybox Room where one of the Top 100 DJs (TBC) will be joined by a selection of Point Blank DJs chosen by us. To be eligible to enter you must have studied at Point Blank in the past or be a currently enrolled student (either online or at our college in London).
If you think you’ve got what it takes then send us a DJ mix no longer than 30 minutes showcasing your selection and mixing skills. Send them to nick@pointblanklondon.com or if you are in the college come and drop a CD off in the office.
Remember to leave all your contact details, a brief DJ bio and how you recorded the mix. Entries must be in by 1st October and you must be available to be in London on the night of Wednesday 26th October.
We’ll listen to all the entries and pick out the winners.
