As April steadily comes to a close we have another month of student success stories to get your teeth into!
Ann Hairston
First up is Ann Hairston who goes by the name Annex and took our Deep and Soulful House course on Logic and has now gone on to be part of a DJ collective called NY Code.
Ann has recently just returned from the Winter Music Conference where she had 3 gigs DJ’ing and drumming on the new Alesis sample pad.
She says “Danny J. Lewis is a wonderful course writer and teacher. All information is clear and helpful and he gives you the tools to make the music you want”.
Her Wilson Santos remix was put out on KULT earlier this month and we wish her all the best with the release! Click here to check her out on Beatport.
Kate Bygrave
Next on the list is Kate Bygrave recently set up her own company by utilising the knowledge she gained after completing our Music Business Course.
Even though Kate only launched immenio earlier this month, the company has already made an impact within the music industry. Providing a ‘one stop shop’ for unsigned musicians who are currently without management, artists are able to make contacts and use the immenio services that are vital to the growth and development of their career.
Their ever so popular Consultations and Music Analysis service is merged with a wealth of contacts to help each artist build their own brand in order to succeed.
Kate says “Point Blank college isn’t just a great place to learn new skills. The networking opportunities made available to their students are equally as valuable. I have and will feel more than happy to recommend Point Blank’s courses to unsigned artists/producers and aspiring managers a like.”
We wish Kate the best of luck and are confident she has all the tools to develop immenio’s success!
Axel Haube and Tee Circus
Third up is Axel Haube and Tee Circus who were both winners of our DJ Mag Top 100 competition. This gave two of our lucky students the chance to play a set at the renowned club Ministry of Sound back in October.
Axel Haube took our online Music Production with Ableton Live Certificate course and has recently had his remix for Jerry May’s ‘Go To Chicago’ released on Italica Records with his own EP due to be released on Parallel Music later this month.
After winning the opportunity to play at Ministry of Sound, Axel now has a range of gigs at upcoming Belgium festivals including a slot at Laundry Day and Plug In Festival.
He says “The courses at Point Blank are great! You learn a lot more techniques that you can’t learn on your own. Great tutors, super feedback they are always ready to help! Expect me back soon!”
London born DJ and Producer Tee Circus took our Radio Course and is now making waves on the London club scene.
His hugely anticipated ‘Plus 8 EP’ is now available to buy on Juno Download is out on all good digital stores April 30th on Sound of Sumo.
This track has gained massive radio support from Redlight & Monki on Rinse FM and includes remixes from Jook10, Viers, and Hidden Cat.
Tee Circus looks set for big things this summer and we can’t wait to see his next venture!
Competition Winner – Danny Rondberg
Following on from the competition winners theme, we have Danny Rondberg who won the Erasure Remix contest with Beatport where prizes of over $5,000 were on offer. This included a Novation Launchpad, Ableton Live 8 and a free Point Blank music production course.
Danny has his own label D-Force Records and will be taking our online Audio Mastering Course in the near future.
He says “I’m very happy winning the Erasure Remix contest at Beatport! With these Point Blank prizes I will enjoy making music for my own label D-Force Records even more!”
That’s it for this edition of student success but be sure to keep it locked here for next month’s instalment of amazing student achievements.
