For the next in our series of Music Production Masterclasses we are delighted to welcome a good friend and advocate of Point Blank Music School… the one and only Mr Claude VonStroke! Watch the recorded broadcast below:
CVS signed up for his first online Ableton Live course with us back in late 2010 aiming to master the DAW in double-quick time, having previously used predominantly Reason and Cubase. He enjoyed his experience so much that he has since taken two more online courses and even got his dirtybird label buddies J.Phlip and the Martin Brothers to do the same.
Now the tables are turning and it is time for CVS to show us some of his top production tips and we can’t wait! Claude will be giving you an exclusive behind the scenes look at a couple of his tracks in Ableton Live.
At the end of the session he will field some questions from members of the audience and those of you watching live online.

A bit of background…
Claude VonStroke is best known for as the affable head honcho of dirtybird recordings… his San Francisco based label with over 50 EP releases to its name, pioneering a sound which sits somewhere in between techno, house, hip hop and bass music.
He has produced some of the biggest underground electronic tracks of the past 10 years most notably ‘Who’s Afraid of Detroit’ which instantly catapulted him to superstardom in 2005.
He has since released two artist albums as well as a Fabric mix and countless remixes for a wide range of commercial and underground artists from Indy rock group The Rapture to Detroit techno legend Kevin Saunderson.
Tour wise, Claude has headlined almost every major club, festival and basement after-party in the world, most recently with the Point Blank Presents… 2012 ‘Hatched’ World Tour which culminated in an absolutely HUGE party in London in March (which we have just about recovered from now!). The outdoor dirtybird parties in San Francisco’s scenic Golden Gate Park have also become a legendary summer destination point for both locals and international travellers.
