Listen to Tee Circus Mix: Point Blank / DJ Mag Top 100 DJ Competition Winner
The DJ Mag Top 100 Award Winners’ Party is drawing closer and the excitement is starting to build!
As a taster of things to come, we thought we’d give you a bit of a low-down on the student DJ competition winners who, in just one week’s time, will be having their wicked way with the knobs and faders in the Ministry of Sound VIP Room DJ booth!
Yesterday we posted Axel Haube mix. Today it is the turn of Tee Circus (pictured above). He has been DJing on London radio stations for the past 10 years with a regular slot on Radio PulseLondon (Thursday’s 6pm to 8pm) and recent guestslots on Rinse. He came with a 30 minute mix that really represented the sounds coming out of the UK right now… from house to 2-step with a healthy dollop of bass. Tee Circus took the Radio Course at Point Blank.
This is what he had to say ahead of next week’s Top 100 Party:
“First off I’d like to thank everyone at Pointblank and DJ Mag for selecting me. To be honest it was a shock when I got the call the be asked to play. Due to the emerging hybrid bass / house / garage / funky music I’m playing at the moment and the event being of a mainly house nature I didn’t think I’d get the gig. Thumbs up Pointblank and DJ Mag!
It’s a big look to be playing at the DJ mag Top 100 party and I’m looking forward to it in a massive way. To be playing on the same bill as world renowned DJ’s is a great opportunity to say the least.
I’m sending this straight from the Slap Shot London studio’s making some dubs to make the set a unique one as always. So expect bass, bleeps and energy. I’ll see you at Ministry of Sound!”
Nice! We are certainly trying to bring more of the UK underground flavours in the Point Blank hosted room of the Top 100 party, usually associated with the more progressive sounds of EDM, and we’re confident that Tee Circus is the man to help us do it!
