Point Blank’s educational practices and course development is constantly evolving, with new ideas being introduced – along with fresh equipment and software – on a regular basis. All the while, we maintain the foundations of our ethos, which is to offer to best possible musical training to our students in a relaxed, friendly and intimate environment.
As part of this ongoing evolution, course tutor Ski Oakenfull has developed an extension to our Electronic Music Composition course, named EMC2. Following from EMC1, it further explores the way in which electronic music is composed and produced, breaking down the different elements that make up tracks, giving students a clear and concise understanding of the various techniques that are used to compose electronic music.
As a prelude to this course, Ski has produced a series of videos as a sneak preview of how the course will work. For the second in this series, he’s turned his attention to this brand new track by men of the moment, Disclosure, together with AlunaGeorge. Entitled White Noise, it was uploaded to Soundcloud earlier this year to a staggering reponse, picking up over 135,000 views in just 17 hours!
